Make sure you have been evaluated by a physician or a therapist before embarking on your arms of steel marathon. If you are experiencing pain, you do not want to go full speed ahead that may just make things worse.
Instead you want to begin slowly
Use low weights
Bands or dumbbells
Make sure you are performing the exercise correctly in laying, sitting, or standing positions.
Engaging a personal trainer is helpful
Breathe appropriately exhaling during resistance
Vary your reps and sets
Do not add more weight until you have managed the current weight
