A Neutral Pelvis

According to the Egoscue Method a neutral pelvis helps to relieve a sore back.

When the muscles are in spasm the natural reaction of the mechanoreceptors including the Golgi Tendon organs is to continuously fire. This causes the muscles to tighten up and guard the area affected.

When this happens, the soft tissue including tendons, ligaments and fascia shorten. This can produce an array of distortions.

You can develop a kyphosis, lordosis, anterior or posterior pelvic tilt, along with rotational abnormalities, a hiked hip will make one leg appear shorter than the other.

How Can You Reverse This Problem?

  • Reset the nervous system
  • Breathe
  • Begin slow stretches to the hips, knees, and ankles
  • Slowly start incorporating strengthening exercise for your core as well as hips, knees and ankles.
